Safe bets
Low risk, high reward. Safe bets; do them.
Moonshots
High risk, high reward. Moonshots; take a few, not all of them.
Low stakes
Low risk, low reward. Low stakes; fine if they’re cheap.

High risk, low reward. Avoid these.

How to use it

  1. List the options you’re choosing between.

  2. Place each by its downside and its upside compared with the others.

  3. Pick your safe bets first, then decide how many moonshots you can afford.
